The Veterans History Project

November 20, 2013

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Bartow,

I am the archivist for the Veterans History Project here at The Library of Congress. We are very excited to work with anyone asking about where to donate the World War II letters and memorabilia that they have inherited.

I am happy to act as a point of contact for anyone with questions about the Veterans History Project or the donation process. I would encourage you to either forward questions directly to me or to act as liaisons between the Veterans History Project and potential donors. However, please keep in mind that we have certain collection policies to which we have to adhere so it is possible that we will not be able to accept everything. I would encourage you to review our Field Kit (click link below)

to learn more about what we can and cannot accept and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me at vohp@loc.gov with the subject line “World War II Daughters Inquiry”.

I am looking forward to working with both of you moving forward.

Sincerely,
Andrew Cassidy-Amstutz

Just came across your website as I was searching for a copy of a book called “Famous Fifty Firsts” that my dad acquired in 1945 when he joined the Army Air Corp. If anyone has information or knowledge of this small publication, please contact me.
